State Park Hunting This November

Unread postby wibow » Tue Oct 08, 2013 6:58 am

Been doing a bit of speed scouting in a state park near where I live and am pretty stoked for Nov. 15th to get here. Hopefully the govt.shutdown will be over in time. My son and I have found a bunch of doe bedding areas to set up on for the rut and looking forward to getting in there and mixing it up. Anybody else heading to the "parks" this year?

Yes looking forward to it. They were originally going to open it up Oct 15 but everyone who loves to take free, herbal nature walks naive to gun deer season, without orange on had a fit. :violin: Therefore they moved it to Nov 15.

Too bad they couldn't have compromised on Nov. 1, to give some more good rut hunting.

wibow, where you been man?

I was wondering what the significance of the 15th was. That's our gun opener in Mich. I like your plan, I've seen some good buck movement around doe bedding in very heavy cover even in high pressure areas.

Singing Bridge how ya been? Just been slammed with work and raising kids bro! Schedule is finally easing up and I have some time to get in the woods. Yea the 15th seems odd but just getting in there before the guns is a plus.

Pretty excited for the Nov 15th date. Have a few spots identified that will be fun to hit with a bow in hand.
