Like all budding hunters we are always anxious to show off our bucks. I tell folks half the fun of hunting is showing off LOL
When I made the move from MO. to FL. I figured I was kissing my hunting goodbye. Fl. is no premiere destination form trophy hunting.
However it's not as bad as I thought, not exactly monster but still a truckload of fun. Here are the results of our first 3 years.
The first pic are our first two Public land bucks - we agreed to shoot the first two decent bucks that came along and by 10 am. on our first hunt we each had a buck down. mine was aged at 6.5 years old, Jeremiahs was 2.5
Jeremiah was invited to hunt a private lease and shot this nice buck in the truck - just big enough make the FL. big buck registry.
Last year I did some scouting on Public land, found a good tree and saw several deer. jeremiah hunted it during a family hunt and shot this nice somewhat non-typical buck in the creek bottoms.
We were blessed!
We can't wait till season opens this fall!

Nice bucks.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: Florida Bucks
Congrats on your success. That non-typical is is pretty cool!

Re: Florida Bucks
Looks like that buck on the right in the first pic was drug a good ways.
I think you guys have done really well. Most deer hunters who move to Florida, become fisherman.
Good luck this year!

Re: Florida Bucks
Season opens same day here but on Private land only. All WMA open a week later but the majority of them are limited entry hunts so if you didn't draw a tag your toast. Osceola (A God forsaken nightmare) is open to the general public and all their ATV'S - Baddddd. We have management tags for the first 2 weekends at the WMA's and they are both walk in only - PTL! You only get 3 days and your out - that's a short time line! Whatever happens we are going to enjoy ourselves!
