Fun getting them out of a marsh isn't it? Now you know why I don't shoot does!! 400 yards...........I would say you got off pretty easy on that one!

I've only dragged one out of the marsh .........I would have paid ALOT of money to have a 400 yard drag! Congrats BigHunt........you got off easy ;).

The drag is not fun at all. I've been drapping the deer w/ an orange jacket over it, over my shoulders and carrying the deer out. Believe it or not it's easier, if it's a doe or a buck that's not absolutely huge. Get a buddy and take turns. We shoot a lot of deer in the marsh on deer drives and I've found that carrying the deer to a waiting canoe is the way to go. I got the idea from reading about some of the famous deer hunters/trackers from the NE. You don't need to be a hulk to do it.

 A good way to pop his cherry.

Just giving you a hard time BH. ;) The real fun drags start when your friends and relatives start swearing at you a half mile before you even show them the buck.

Nice Job BH. I agree 400 yards would suck, but It could have been a lot worse!

Did you use a sled? I think that would work pretty slick down the deer trails in the cattails. That's what I plan on using when I murder my buck this year a mile and half back in the swamp.

Heck of a blood trail, the Diamond has blood on it now, should be no stopping it now!

Now with all that said, I got to poke a little fun at you, your lucky you were shooting rage instead of slick tricks or it would have been a 480 yard drag instead of 400 yards! J/K! With a blood trail like that it performed just fine!
