Do it Yourself hunt North Dakota

Unread postby BigHills BuckHunter » Wed Mar 07, 2012 6:58 pm

My friend and I are thinking about doing a do it yourself hunt on public land in North Dakota early season bowhunt. Ive talked to a few guys who have done this a few years ago and it sounds like a blast. I would love to have this opportunity especially to get a velvet buck. Have any of you bowhunted North Dakota? Whats the out of state liscense cost? Is there a lot of public to hunt?

There is quite a bit of public land in the west. I also know some people who do well near Minot.

Any advice would be really helpful. As of now, our plan is find some public with mapping and food sources. Hunt the fingers of woods going out into the food source.
