scent control

I was just wondering what some of yall do for scent control. I shower before each hunt, keep my camo scent free , and also wear carbon outer wear. Now with that I believe deer will still smell you but only helps fool them knowing how close you really are. I got a buddy that does the same but doesn't care about wind direction because he believes deer cannot smell him. His wall will tell you he is a good hunter. My experience deer has came in down wind of me but they knew I was near but just didn't realise I was just a few feet above them. I would like other peoples thoughts.
