Scouting ready to hunt can be touchy.
Esoecially during the rut when alot of others are out there and you are doing alot of walking.

x100.
I do almost all of my scouting in the winter / early spring. Unless you are pretty sure that no one is out hunting, I would not do a lot of in-season scouting. Common courtesy and safety. No telling what some frustrated, public land (kook) hunter might do if you bump him 2-3 times during the season while you are scouting.

Get really mad. I wouldn't even hunt the spot, I would walk back in daylight and go home and draw up a new gameplan.

Go ahead and hunt that night; don't mess with the other guys stuff and let him have that spot. If you have your heart set on that deer, then maybe try to find another one of his beds that utilizes a different wind.

With 3 kids under 6 hunts are limited and I would just walk out play ball with the kids that day. That night come up with a gameplan and wait till wind and kitchen pass is right.

I'd be tempted to crouch down, hold my fingers over my head like antlers, and walk by that camera, giving a surprised look into the lens as it went off.
As for the hunt, I'd probably quickly spot check to see if there's any sign the deer is still there or using any altered exit route, otherwise back out and sit a different spot.

How many of you would bump the bedding area so "that guy" don't shoot your buck? And would you consider that ethical?

I actually kinda thought about it. I wouldn't bump it so the other guy won't shoot it, but more because the guy obviously hunted with the wrong wind, so the place is probably ruined already. One more bump, would most certainly make the buck move on to the next bedding spot, so you are actually bumping and dumping.. Hopefully, you have an idea of where the buck will set up camp next. Is this dirty pool? I don't know.

It's possible the other guy was there on the wrong wind but it's also possible the buck wasn't there that day either. Maybe the guy didn't hunt yet and just set his stuff up on a rainy day?
Id give it one more hunt, especially since the wind is right and Im already back there.

If it is illegal to leave a stand and camera out on this land absolutely. I don't like being that way but people that do this when it is illegal don't deserve respect because they are not showing any to other hunters by claiming an area.
If the stand is legal then I have absolutely no problem with it and if I saw the guy I would even wish him good luck on the buck. (unless he doesn't know about it )

I see nothing wrong with the ethics involved in that one. You did just as much work towards that buck as the other guy. If hes hunting it on the wrong wind, his chance is dismal at best.
Would I if I thought about, heck yeah.

I would not hunt that afternoon. I would go home and figure where is the next most likely bed he may use. I would also spot check this bed each spring hoping to find that the other hunter has moved on and look for signs that a big buck is back using the spot again.
