Heading to Ruffed Grouse (camp name) in the big woods for muzzle opener!
3" of snow overnight and another storm brewing for Sat night...
Overnight temps in the teens on the Mtn!
Talked to the land owner and he showed me his 238 pound 10-pointer and another mount of two dead bucks locked togther from last year - Yee-Ha
This should provoke some action - Good luck ALL!!!!!!

Good luck Ed hope you kill a big one.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: Smoke Pole tomorrow...
Crazy weekend weather...
Hunted Saturday AM for deer with no sightings, then pulled out the scatter gun for some upland bird for a few hours.
Birds held upto within 10-15 feet and scared the ba-jesus out of us - First hand experience of the ThunderBird - what a blast (literaly )...
The big Nor'Easter was to hit late afternoon @ home and a few hours later up North while in camp - Just felt right!
My best buddy dropped me off for the evening sit and continued down the road 1/2 mile to his spot.
I was situated @ 3:15 and @ 5 o'clock on the button I heard his smoke pole echo through the hills, then a few minutes later a follow-up shot!!!
He connected with his first black bear @ 145 pounds - not too shabby if I might say so
The storm dropped up to 31" of snow and knocked phine / electrical power to 1/4-1/3 of the state.
The wife & 5-year old were a little uptight when I came back to town Sunday afternoon and we are still running the generator (looks like we will be for most of the week)!
Why can't work be without power so I can DEER HUNT?
I'll post pics when I get back online at home... (typing from work unfortunately)
