I worked at an REI and we'd always have people (especially middle aged people trying to get into recreational bike riding) who wanted to buy the biggest, softest seat cushion they could find. We'd have to keep telling them that they'd be much better off with a less cushioned seat because the extremely soft ones get uncomfortable. Same reasoning behind a mattress that's too soft.

I personally think the LW seat is just fine as is.

I agree... Thought I was the only one who likes the seat the way it is..

i also agree i have lots of cushing on my but so it works for me

Hasn't affected the sticks either

The origanal seat has positions for the v bracket on the 1st stick... How is it the gorrilla seat works without putting the sticks on securely?

I never had a problem securing the sticks over the gorilla seat...the gorilla seat is cushy enough that when you leave the sticks on the stand for long periods of time...it forms it's own divets.

Agree with RaisedbyWolves. I've never had a problem with the gorilla seat. These days I stack the (5) sticks and then lay the stacked sticks flat against the stand. It has a noticeably lighter feel when hiking a couple miles back as it keeps the entire pack closer to your body.

I agree with you guys the original seats are perfect. Even my fidgety son likes them. Tree stands are for standing in if you want to be comfy get one of those condo blinds with heat ac running water etc.... ;)

Unless you have a couple of herniated disks in your lower back like I unfortunately do. It sucks but I learned to live with it by alternating between sitting and standing. My lower back sure appreciates a comfy seat!! :)

I think that my LW Assault seat works good. I would like to check out these knew seats just to see what It's like and 60 dollars is alittle expensive.

The only hang on that i have used that had a semi comfy seat was my muddy. I cant sit on it all day, my back would pack up and leave! I sit for 30 minutes or so, stand for 5 or 10, then sit etc. I've had too many race car injuries to have any hope of sitting OR standing all day.

The product description says it has gel inside. I wonder if the gel stiffens up in cold weather?

I might meet up with the CEO tomorrow to check it out. He lives near me.

Im all for a new seat on mine. Maybe the made in china seats are different then the USA ones? I cant sit on a bleacher for more then an hour, not sure how that is any different then the seat on my LW. I also have the lower back issues if I stand for too long, so I sit/stand on and off. On a typical evening hunt I can live with it, sit for half, stand for the best half. All day sits though, this seat has got to go!
