November....1st week or 2nd week?
Probably been brought up before but......... I cannot decide which week to take off. If it were up to you what week would you or do you take off to spend time in the woods? When have you seen the greatest deer activity?
An unforseen future...Nestled somewhere in time

If I had to choose between those two weeks I would say the second.

Between your choices I would take the 2nd, but I actually like the 3rd week on our KS farm. The big deer are finally out and about from the 18th - 28th. The few days before and after Thanksgiving are great for mature bucks on our farm. Went 12th - 17th last year and saw only young bucks and one borderline (140's, 4.5yo) shooter. In 09 killed my buck on the 24th coming to the rattling horns and decoys.

Seems like no matter what the experts predict the seeking phase always ends up taking place from Halloween until about Nov.5th-6th every year in SE WI. My best days are always Nov. 1st or 2nd consistently for the past 20+ years. The only thing that changes this is really warm weather but then I am sure most of the movement takes place at night.

Re: November....1st week or 2nd week?
Really depends on if you are after bucks or big bucks. I like the last few days in October through about the 5th of November for a chance at a big one. November 6th through the 15th is the best time to see numbers of bucks. November 16th through December 1st is in my opinion the best time to get the old boy. Any time in November is good. I really like hunting Thanksgiving day, in fact I killed a buck on Thanksgiving day last year.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Based on anltered deer harvest data, here in NE IL 11/6-11/12 is the peak. 11/3-11/17 if you want to stretch it.

Re: November....1st week or 2nd week?
Here in Michigan it's usually best during the first week.......second week can be hit or miss and bucks start locking down on does.

Re: November....1st week or 2nd week?
Really depends on where you are hunting... For example, a guy could have two peak weeks by hunting 1st week of November in Buffalo county Wisconsin, and the second week in Southern Iowa. It peaks at different times in different places for some reason.
