Cougar on camera

Unread postby Stanley » Fri Oct 07, 2011 5:09 am

Friend of mine got this cat on camera. I hunt some ground about a half mile from where this cat was captured on camera. Made the news but the guy wanted to remain anonymous (his request not mine). He didn't have his date or time set correctly he is flim flam when it comes to that stuff. DNR went out to the site and confirmed the occurrence.

They said it was a male more than likely migrated from the Black Hills.

It's always the same story isn't it.......they migrated from out west. I too am surprised they admitted it was there, they never want to cave in to that....

I agree. Time to admit there is a breeding population in the midwest states.

OR, they are being planted here to get rid of deer....

All of sudden where I hunt, we have bobcats everywhere, people are seeing them cross the roads late at night, several pics on trail camera's, tracks everywhere, and where did they come from ? We never saw or heard of a one 5 years ago, and now, suddenly, they are everywhere around us. I do live in the CWD zone also. We are pretty convinced in our area, " someone " brought them in.

I think it's neat seeing the picture and maybe even having them around in Wisconsin, not that I want to meet up with one in the dark walking into my stand.

I know a dozen or more dedicated sportsman who know what they are looking at, that have seen mountain lions in the State of New York. All of the accounts range over a 10 year period and all from reputable sources. One gets killed in Connecticut and they release this big story about how it traveled from South Dakota.

I have never seen one or a track for that matter. I would love to see a big cat in the wild.

I read about the one in CT and people had reported seeing one, but that probably went over like a UFO sighting. Wasn't until one got hit by a car that it made the news. I bet they were all ready to say it was a pet that got loose, till the DNA evidence got out that it matched the samples taken in WI/MN a few years back. They claimed it likely went up into CA and across, but with sightings of them in upper and lower MI and IL, my guess is they are likely going around both ways.
