WI Youth Hunt

Unread postby Hodag Hunter » Fri Oct 07, 2011 4:17 am

WI's youth hunt is this weekend.....anyone have their kids heading out?

My son is touch and go......been naughty at school and lacking on his "desire" to complete homework.

He still thinks I'll let him shoot this weekend but we shall see.......he is 10 this year so it's his first season with his own tag in his pocket.

Ive taken my son on a weekend hunting trip three years in a row now,hes 11. Call him in sick on a monday, go to Tubbys Too in Richmond for the fish fry on friday, get up too early and stay up too late.
On these weekends, we have what i call "no shitters". If school was going down hill, we talked about it. If he was driving her crazy or being disrespectful to momma, we talked about it. Had some great conversations in the woods.
He gets straight "A's" now because he sees what he can loose.

I am taking my 14 year old this saturday for his first deer hunt. His interest started slow but I think if he gets some action he will be hooked.

Taking my filming partners daughter down to IL this weekend for their youth hunt. Last year she killed a buck in the first hour of her hunting career, hopefully this year is as productive!
