Film friends and scout, but I don't think I will have to worry about tagging out. I'll be happy just to fill one tag this year.

Re: If you tag out early....
I have 5 tags between bow and gun. Never killed more than 2 deer in a season so I doubt I will ever tag out. I like to hunt right up to the last day of late season and make it last as long as possible.
But if I would tag out I would finish the season with my 2nd favorite hobby.......Musky Fishing. As much as I love it I cannot seem to take myself away from bowhunting for even one day. Bowhunting is still my #1 priority.

I have unlimited tags where I hunt... But back when the deer were managed I would hunt another state.

Only happened to me once, and I just switched my bow out for a video camera. I "hunted" areas's I might not have just to see.

About the situation as yours......can't wait for second season bowhunting. Just enjoy bowhunting then so much better.
Haven't hunted once yet this year, can't put the musky rods down.....I guess this is where we differ.
My boy wants to do the youth hunt this weekend but has been sassy lately....we will probably fish.

Re: If you tag out early....
I would do a little more grouse/duck/goose hunting, some extra in season scouting and probably try and setup some family members on some deer. They do allow party hunting in MN so filling someone else's tag isn't out of the question if they give me the ok.

You are lucky to be in good musky country. I don't have many options down here otherwise I would probably hit the lakes more especially mornings. It just doesn't seem the same fishing down here for musky. Tried Pewaukee once but nothing like the Northwoods experience. I need some scenery to look at when I am fishing.
