Yote tail.....or is it tale...

Unread postby Zap » Thu Oct 06, 2011 1:50 pm

A guy I know was hunting near where I was, saw his truck as I drove past on the way in.

On the drive out he was at his truck so I stopped to say hello.
He shot a buck, we went in with flashlights and followed the trail maybe fifty yards.

Lost it and were searching around on our hands and knees.

Then all heck breaks loose maybe 100 yards away, yotes howlin/barking.......deer screaming in distress.......
It was frickin ERIE.....the yotes were killin this deer pretty close to where we were.

He looks at me and says it was only a dink....and turns and heads out to the trucks....never looks back....

Crazy, that would be spooky. On a scout last year I stayed in the swamp a little late . And then there was 1 coyote howling, then 2 , 3, 4, 5 6, 7 from all around me. It got the blood pumping.
Your experience gave me the goosebumps.

I was with someone else, but I was also alone pretty fast..

I walked out slow watching my back trail, he jogged out.

And it was pretty freaky.

I once killed a doe on a high spot in Missouri, gutted her after dark.

Cold and snow covered ground, the yotes tailed me as I dragged the doe, all the way out. Glad it was downhill.

That was freaky also...I was happy to see the truck.
It was about a mile......
