Re: So how is your season going?
My season is going okay. Could be A LOT better though. The weather hasn't co-operated for much of it. I have been seeing deer but the only buck I've seen is a big spike. I wounded a doe early on now I'm hesitant to shoot at a deer just not too confident. The last few sits were spent watching deer but no shooting.
I've seen 13 deer from the stand about 7 in range...nothing dead yet.
Kind of in the same boat as Ed with bird hunting. I am not much of a bird hunter really. But last weeked I hunted the northern WI duck opener and it was AWESOME so that cut into bowhunting time. This coming thursday-sunday I will be camping in the Nicolet National Forest and grouse hunting with 10other guys and a handful of dogs. Its an annual trip its a blast. End of the month I will be going to North Dakota and hunting pheasants or ducks, depends if the ducks are migrating then or not.
Unfortunately a lot of my weekends are also spent working this is a busy time of year and a lot of people are wanting trees pruned and fall leaf and plant cleanups done.
Basically what I am getting at is the next time I will probably hit the woods bowhunting will be november unless I sneak out for that city limits hunt I am a part of. I have seen a ton of nice bucks...but we can only shoot does.
