About a year ago I made a post saying that I dont agree with dan that an old buck will have the bottom of its rub at about belt hight. Ill explain my reasoning and why I realize and understand that he was indeed correct.
I was hunting a 6.5 year old buck last year. Whenever I found his rubs i knew it was him because he had 13 inch g2"s and you could always see where they hit on the tree. This bucks rubs were never very high but he was an old deer.
Well after this buck was killed I realized how small his body was But it never clicked till the other day.
This is why his rubs were never very high.
It never clicked until this week. I have been hunting a 5.5 year old and the two rubs of his that i found are up high. By no means do I think I know more than Dan in the world of whitetails. I like to challange everything everyone says so that I can go out into the woods and learn myself.
Just an intersting story I thought I would share
Check out the body size
