Re: what will he score??
I have run trail cams and glassed this this farm all summer...I have seen this deer ONE time
Right here on camera, you can tell in the video that he is not comfortable with the slight IR glow from the cam. I got him on cam once last year also, I think he is 4.5 this year.
I won't be going back to check this cam anytime soon!
I know where he beds when he is on this farm..just need the right wind to hunt sneak in and hunt him!

Nice buck! Looks to be in the high 160's. Maybe more.
That's why I don't like to run a cam on video anymore. It routinely spooks them. I may try it from above. Maybe a red light "in the sky" won't bother them as much.

Re: what will he score??
still learning all the ins and outs of the cams
it is tons of fun, I ONLY put them on food sources as you can see and never hunt close to them

Have you been able to determine his specific track so you know when he is using the farm?

Re: what will he score??
I wish I could...I am not sure I could identify them other than by size. HIs tracks are large and he is most likely the biggest deer calling this range home.
I will rely on the cam to tell me when he feeds here and hunt then..any other ideas??
our season opens 10/1 so I will be hunting him next week when I get back from WI for a business trip.

He is on the farm right now, get the right wind and hunt him! How far are the cameras from the bed you believe he uses? Also what brand of camera was the video taken with. I realize it spooks deer, but dang is that video cool or what?

I wouldn't rely on the camera to tell you. Especially if it's in the same spot. He may not go in front of that camera again now that he has been spooked by it. Plus a camera only covers an extremely small area compared to the rest of the property.

I'd hunt him right away this next week...

Re: what will he score??
Nice buck for sure. I would guess he'd push 170 with the added junk.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: what will he score??
170 gross... But he won't net well cause his one side has junk and don't match the other side.
But who cares, thats a great buck.
Is it possible he spooked cause of your human scent rather than the red glow?
