Would a deer ever choose browse over fields and acorns?

in my neck of the woods there are some fields but probably more woodland and swamp. so when you shine in the fields, you really dont get a good picture of whats in the area other than deer that live near those fields. i would say its not the big woods but its a transistion from the northwoods to the farmland of the east central wisconsin area. my experience and hunches leads me to believe that alot of the deer in this area feed PRIMARILY on browse unless the acorns are dropping. i cant really prove that but it is just a feeling that i get based on the overview of the land and my time spent here

I agree with SA, I think some big bucks will browse untill it gets dark then hit the hot food sources.
