The bucks don't get real big here. We have a 3 1/2 week rifle season right through rut time. Not much lives through that. Here's one I got near my house. The date is off.

A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

I've seen this buck around. He's hanging with an eight point, and he has one tiny brow that probably isn't an inch.

Should be losing that fuzz soon.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Yes. There is no sense waiting for one bigger, since there is about a half a percent chance that there might be one bigger. This is almost top end for this area. I'd love to let this size walk, he probably won't make gun season though... Anyway, I won't be in NY to hunt him, Ill be out west.

Maybe you could turn your basement into a "sanctuary" and invite him in to stay for a few weeks...he can ride out the gun season in comfort

Spy-most people around here don't consider IL, NE, SD etc....out west.
Different viewpoint I suppose.
