Indiana is a 1 buck per season state. If I were after a particular animal then a 200" double drop tine giant shag nasty buck would have to walk in front of me before I drew back or a 160" class 8 which is what I am personally after this season. Public land....well that would be a differnt story altogether. :D

If I had set the goal, and had reason to believe I could get on the big one, then yeah I would reluctantly pass up the non target....

That being said, I normally never have a particular target buck....so a 155" stumbling past me would get shot.

The largest I have passed on purpose with a tag in my pocket was about 150". But that aint gonna happen too often.....
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

No I am, I have a couple of of bucks that are in that 5-6 year old range that I am onto this year but I can only hunt their public land beds, they might spend a lot of their time on private land so I have to be realistic about my chances of tagging them. I would still be plenty happy to shoot a smaller buck.

Agreed.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

i will never pass a 150, i dont care if hes 2 or 10.

that being said, i really REALLY want an old buck. 4.5 or older, but I also hunt publci land or hear and there with buddies on there land/clubs, so I follow those rules... and ususally there are none. LOL

It took me 8 years to shoot a nice buck with a bow (on and off hunting, not 100% serious like now) and it was because I had a goal. I was not shooting spikes, 4 pointers or even 6 pointers... I was holding out for an 8 (young or old) or and old buck even if both his horn where busted off... Ida shot em! Lord knows I had many MANY chances and young bucks with my bow... but Ill wait, no problem.

Depends on which one I wanted more or what the 6.5 year old looked like. I won't hunt a particular buck. Or haven't in the past anyway. I can't see a 155" 3.5 year old not fillin the bill tho.
