2 or 3 from the ground. The rest from a tree stand.

Killed some deer from the ground with a gun, but all archery kills were from a treestand.

Re: On the ground or in the air
Killed all of my whitetail from a treestand. The only one I killed from the ground was a Mule Deer in NW Nebraska.

Re: On the ground or in the air
6 archery kills from the ground (5 mature bucks and 1 doe). About the same amount of gun kills from the ground. Don't gun hunt anymore though, haven't since the early seventies.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I have killed 3 does and 1 buck on the ground. All were under 15 yds, its a rush being so close at ground level.

It is about a 50/50 mix for me. I started bow hunting from the ground when I was 11 and still enjoy trying it from time to time

Re: On the ground or in the air
The whitetail adrenaline videos have me pumped up to get on the ground and see what happens. I know I will be hunting from the ground a lot this year, I have a lot of new public land to hunt that I haven't scouted yet and come the rut, I will be on the ground a lot I think!

Re: On the ground or in the air
Never killed a deer from the ground with a bow. I have killed a few as a kid sitting on the side of a ridge with the ol' shotty gun. Once while I was kneeling to take my back pack off to look for something I had two bucks come past me on the other side of a large tree I was behind and I could have stabbed them with an arrow, that was pretty cool.
God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Mostly from a tree.

Re: On the ground or in the air
All my bow kills have been from the treestand and I'm sure I'll have many more to come from upon high. That being said, I hope to change that this year...I'm starting to fall more and more in love with the idea of throwing on the ASAT 3D suit and doing a good amount of ground hunting. Seems like a great way to scout/hunt new places.

Re: On the ground or in the air
I've only killed one buck ever from the ground....the rest have all been out of the tree. I am setting up a couple ground blinds this year so I can take my boy out with me....maybe I can add another ground kill to the list!
