Tru-Fire Edge Buckle Foldback..
Both me and my girlfriend use it and have been very happy with it. The small jaws on it are awesome, and the foldback feature is nice for climbing up into your stand, etc..Both of ours are the original leather buckle style strap, and I prefer it over the new hybrid style strap since its much smaller and more low-profile. The hybrid strap has more options as far as size, but I found it to be a little bulky and hard to replicate the size over and over..although it was very comfy. Its all personal preference.

I just upgraded from a crappy cabelas velcro release to the tru-fire edge with a hybrid style strap that cornfed mentioned. I love it so far. Huge step up from the velcro and quiet quiet quiet!

Yep..my main reason for upgrading. I had a velcro one too, but got sick of it making noise if I had to adjust it or something. I really love that the buckle is silent if I have to readjust it if i put my gloves on or put another layer on or something..
Velcro does not belong in the woods!

That is an awesome release I know a lot of guys who use it.
I like Scott, and I have been shooting the Little Goose for 3 years now.

Trying a new release this year myself, the HotShot Infinity
So far this release is badass, it has the smoothest trigger you have ever felt. The bearing wheel on the trigger is freakin butter smooth and it shoots like a charm. Not tooo expensive either, so may be worth looking into!

Re: looking for new release
IF your going to shoot a release that straps on, buckle is the ONLY way to go. I shot velcro for years and went thru the same old sequence of putting it on, drawing the bow a few times to get the noise out then hunting. I killed deer with it, dont get me wrong. But if you have to take it off in the stand, your gonna make noise. I shoot the carter quickie 2 release, and it is a great release. It doesnt use jaws that have to open and hook onto the string. You just hook the D-loop on your bow and your good to go. If you dont shoot a D-loop, its a good time to start.

Zap, I have been wanting to try that release. Not sure its the best for hunting though. How has it worked out for you?

Same here I just leave it attached to the bow when i'm in the tree stand. Great release.....

Re: looking for new release
I have had good luck with the evolution hunting, I have two and keep the one for hunting set a little heavier.
It seems that when you draw on a deer you load the bow more from the adrenaline.
The back tension has not been a problem when hunting.
Hand held is a big plus, and I always wear my binos with a bino harness.
I put a small cell phone holder on the bino harness and the release fits in it great. Its a hook style, so its easy to get off the d loop if you have to.
Overall a good release for target or hunting, a person would be wise to shoot it a few months before hunting with it.
I have shot it for about three years.
