Big Baby's daylight activity

Unread postby ah110 » Mon Aug 01, 2011 5:47 am

This is a buck I plan (or im very confidant ill be able) to kill the afternoon of October 15th. (or a couple days following)

He's very active during the daytime and is still bedding in the same area as last season. He appears to be the dominant buck in the area and he left the area during the rut and didnt come back during the late season. I believe its because of the lack of does on this property.

So basically i have from Oct. 15th to about the 25th to arrow this brute.

Any ideas on what score?

Here he is coming out of his bedding area.

Heres another nice but young (still a shooter) 8 coming from the same bedding area.

Glad to see that you are confidant.
Good luck.

Hard to tell score from those pics, but I would say 145 or so gross.

He has very good mass at the bases, fairly tall and wide.
G3's and main beams will probably grow some more.

What state is this pic from? Texas?

I enlarged the pic for you.

About 140... I personally would back off on the camera now that you have a good pattern.

I'd also take the camera out of there next chance it rains and you can slip in undetected.

He doesn't appear to have the big black "growing bulbs" on the ends of his tine tips so in my opinion he's just about done growing, though I could be wrong. Good mass but average and short tines, I'd say he would gross score around 132-135 max.

Hes a dandy buck and def mature.... 130-132 max.... Hes got good mass, brows, and 2's... But a weak 3 and not super long beams. I got a buck that looks just like him and scores 131"

132 3/8". Great buck! Sounds like you have him figured out. Good luck getting him! If he is the dominant buck this year you may have a few extra weeks to put him down because he won't be pushed off by other bucks And if the foods there(mid October acorns possibly) and he'll stay in his territory to breed the does that are there before he moves off.

Nice looking buck, great frame on him, I like somewhere in the 135-140 area. Good luck with him.
