XL LW traction belts too long?

Unread postby 76chevy » Mon Jul 18, 2011 8:42 am

tried out my new sit and climb wide stand, it came with the xl belts

they were WAY too long for the small (about 10-12 inch tree) I tried to climb..thinking of cutting them off

most of the trees I will be climbing will be this size too, I was shocked the belt did not fit right

My old summit viper would have had no issue with a tree this size

anybody else had this problem or shortened the belts before??

I really don't want to buy 'new' shorter replacement belts for this stand which cost me close to $500 already!

I got the XL belts for mine too but I also have the standard which I plan on using mostly. The XL seem too long for the trees I climb. I had the standard on my hand climber too and climbed some big oak trees and never had an issue. I don't know about cutting them?? Doesn't seem like a good idea to me??

76, i am planning on ordering a set of XL belts, if you would be interested in trading for my standard ones PM me. They are a few years old but have had light use.
