Re: Autum Ninja ???
There's several different factors that play into the amount of time. Usually you can get there and completely set up before he reaches you though. It gets quiet when the thermals switch. I don't think sound matters as much as I once thought. Any sound you make when you drop down can actually entice a another deer to come in and see what it hears heading to the hub. I have also had deer drop down from the same ridge I dropped down from, so keep that in mind.

Do you ever go in blind strictly based off a map to hunt a thermal hub? Or is this strictly a tactic you use on prescouted and located beds?

No, not usually. I have pre-scouted and know that a bed is close. Not all of these areas are created equal either. A good hub will have a cluster of rubs heading in different directions.

The credit should go to Autumn Ninja. That guy was legit. I'm just adding my experiences for what it's worth.

I appreciate the comments. I'll see if I can't get together a few examples from different areas where this technique has worked.

This was an awesome thread. I’m obviously late to the game, just thankful I found this sight. This puts into words a lot of things I have seen in some of the hilly terrain I’ve hunted. Meaning ohhh yeah that makes so much sense. I’ve seen that before.

Re: Autum Ninja ???
I focused a lot of this post season scouting on hill country. This thread is a great guideline.
