Re: How many arrow's do you take with you ? ( poll )
On my recurve or longbow I like a bow quiver. I carry three broadhead arrows and one arrow with a blunt. I keep my quiver full because the extra mass weight aids in good shooting. I have never needed more than 3 broadhead arrows, but after hearing some of these stories, I might invest in a bigger quiver just to be safe!

Usually 3 or 4 and I have run out or wounded a doe and had to dig one out of the ground and clean it off to chase deer down and finish it off.

Re: How many arrow's do you take with you ? ( poll )
The only time I ever needed more than 2 arrows was to finish off a bear. Good thing he was done on the 3rd arrow because my adrenaline was maxed out!
My problem is the more arrows I carry the better the chance I will lose one someplace walking out of the marsh in the nasty stuff. Never fails and happened more times than I care to admit! With the price of carbon arrows and broad heads it stings a bit when losing them. It's a bad feeling when you get back to your vehicle and your missing arrows or worse yet the whole quiver is missing! Been there and done that a few times!
Carrying 3 arrows is plenty for me.

I carry as many as the quiver holds. My xbow only holds 3, so I usually cock it and carry a dirt arrow. I ran out 2x in the last 3 yrs with it. Once chasing fall turkeys, ended up pulling an errant arrow out of a tree and still chasing them.
Once I hit a buck and thought I missed. A while later I catch movement down in the woods. When I realized it was him and he was hit I started crawling at him, actually but scooched through some tall grass. Hit him in the foot on the follow up and stuck in a maple behind him, took my last one and fast walked up to him and shot him, went back grabbed the one out of the maple and by time I got back to him he was done.

I would have loved to have witnessed that hunt! I carry a full quiver, if I have that many arrows at that time.

I take a full quiver: 5. Only emptied it once, back in 1991.

5
Once I had shot and killed 2 yotes and missed a 3rd. A whole pack just kept circling after I dusted the alpha female/male. When I got outta the tree I didn't stick around long!
I have shot multiple baldies in a sit too Never know when you gonna need some follow up arrows as well. Best to go fully loaded!
