WOW

the forge ventilator looks like a real shooter on paper!!

8.25 inches of brace height will make for a very forgiving and easy shooting bow

any IN or IL dealers carry these??

I would like to test shoot one!!

I just purchased my first new bow I bought a Mission Eliminator 2. I really like it. I shot a few others but unfortunately money was an issue when I bought mine I had to keep it all within $700 or so. I got such a good yr end price on it that I was able to put far better accessories on it. After hearing the positive reviews I wish I would have given Forge a try. I went to his shop once last fall as he is just up the road from me but he was closed...Maybe next time!

I would shoot all the bows that you can just like everyone else has said, go with the bow that picks you..if you are not comfortable witha bow when you buy it you never will be. I know before I wanted to have the fastest bow out there, I have been very impressed with my Hoyt's I think my next one will be an element. The bow you described as wanted a new fast quiet bow I would strongly consider the PSE EVO. I was very impressed no wrist shock fast and smooth.

I currently have traditional bows and a modern compound. When I bought the modern compound, a Hoyt Alphamax, I wasn't quite ready for the change. Compared to the older "wheel" compounds, they are different. First off, there is no "creep" at full-draw in the new super-fast bows and that kind of messed me up some. When I shot older compounds (Mountaineer) I shot fingers and liked the ability to let the thing down if a shot wasn't present. Not quite as smooth to do so with the new bows (and new ones require a release), so I feel that I have less control with the tool. If I was to go out and replace it, I would take a look at the Parker Blackhawk EZ-Draw for the forgiving characteristics and to get back more performance than the older wheel bows, yet have modern technology. My 2-cents.

I just bought a Z9 which is 30 ATA and a 8.75"braceheight. That Ventilator @ 32" and 8.25" braceheight looks awesome too. I really like tall braceheights and straight risers, basically forgiving platforms in a hunting bow.

Well I too am looking for a new bow. I shot the Invasion and Specialist one day and then shot the Z7 in Extreme and a Magnum another day. I shot the Dead Eye and a Carnage yesterday (also a PSE but that thing scared me a little) and I just got back from shooting the CRX in 32 and 35 inch and a Carbon Matrix and Element.

I am so confused.

The next plan is to get to a shop that carries several of those mentioned and narrow it down.

My old bow is just that OLD; and these new "toy" bows act so much different that I'm just not able to wrap my head around what is good for me!

The quietness and lack of vibration & recoil is amazing on all of them but I have to admit that that Hoyt Carbon riser is Wicked Dead quiet and recoiless. I don't think I can justify the cash for that one though.

It's a lot of fun looking, it should be interesting to see what ends up coming home !!!

I had a great day bow "hunting". I was fortunate enough to find an archery shop that was more than willing to set up bows for me. I was able to shoot at least 9 different bows all set up to my specs at the same time. I wish I would have taken notes; I could write a pretty good bow review. The real review should be for bow shops, some do a lot better job at helping out the potential customer.

Any how I think I have it narrowed down to a EZ-7, an Invasion or an Elite Hunter. The knock against the Elite is it is a true binary cam system and from what I understand is that it is impossible to tune out cam lean with any true binary bow. Which from what I also understand could force me to have to shoot a mechanical head if the thing won't paper tune. Of course most of the time that isn't a problem but I don't know if that I want to sign up for a potential problem with such a big investment. Otherwise that thing is really a neat bow with an awesome warranty.

The shop was Archery Country in St. Cloud, MN.
Very Impressive selection and wonderful service. My 1st experience there.
