Hunting Beast get together at Dan & Carols place...

Unread postby dan » Mon Jun 13, 2011 5:42 am

Who is interested in a get together? How does Saturday July 16 sound? I would like to start around 11:00 at my house, and take everyone bowfishing who wants to go... After that return to the house for a cookout and bull session. With a fire to follow at dark. You would need to bring your own meat and beverages. You can bring your bows and shoot in the yard. We may have some contests like biggest carp, biggest dogfish, or most fish...

If you don't bowfish your welcome to come later for the cookout & fire...
Everyone is welcome to bring maps/topo's and questions that they do not want to ask on the public forum.

If you plan on coming for the bowfishing, plan on getting wet. Most of the areas we bowfish we wade for the fish in knee to waist deep water. You can bring a change of clothes or waders..

I personally just put on old shoes and jump in.

Tubbing down the Bark River. Bring your own tubes!

This is a FAMILY get-to-gether. Not just for the "guys"

So who would be intersested???

So far:
Dan
Carol
Rat Slayer
Dan Jr
Magicman
Foltzy
Backwoods
Hotterthantiffany
Chad
Lungbuster

So Dan, what is the town your in (doesnt the marsh bucks reveal that?), and do you know if a fishing license is all that would be needed to bow fish?

For those interested, you can purchase a 1 day fishing license.

A great state to fish just got better. Wisconsin is now offering a one-day fishing license to those anglers that want to give Wisconsin fishing a try. Choose your water. Choose your friends. Choose your day. It's that simple.

The cost of the one-day license is:

$8 for residents
$10 for non-residents

I would also love to attend this but I'm thinking you're too far away for one, and two I'll be up fishing with Hodag Hunter that following weekend. No way my wife would go for it! Honestly though, would love to swing in for a bit if it worked out in the fishing schedule and it was close to Rhinelander.

The closest town is Rome, but there are more than one Rome in Wisconsin. Next closest town is Sullivan. Jefferson county... To bow fish you just need a bowfishing license.

With Lungbuster coming anybody who has camera or filming questions he is the guy to talk to ;)

Steve from Forge says he thinks he is coming too... When he confirms I will let you know. If there is some interest, I could probably get him to bring a few bows for people to look at?

AHEM! This is a FAMILY event..... I see the FAMILY was not invited. They are. This is not just for Dan and the guys.

Wifes and children are welcome as well, along with any fur kids that need to visit for the day.

Better listen up guy's. Moma Beast is talking!   Better bring your significant others and the kids or you might get in BIG trouble! ;)

I wish I could attend, but it's a little far for me and the budget is a little tight at the moment (gas is just under $4 a gallon still around here). Although I wouldn't need to get a dog sitter this time and Mia would have an absolute blast! Not to mention I'm looking at houses (forclosures) and I have to be around right now because the good deals are gone the first day. Hopefully another time. Who knows, things could change.
