Long range survelliance

Unread postby jonsimoneau » Tue Jun 07, 2011 12:00 pm

Since now is the time of year many of us like to watch deer to see what is in the area, I have a question. For those of you who base your hunting around bedding areas, do you primarily watch fields now at this time of year, or will you actually watch known bedding areas from a safe distance that may be far enough back in the woods where you will not see them in the fields during daylight. I live in Illinois, and we cannot legally shine deer here.

Most of the time I am glassing food sources and figuring out ( educated guessing ) where they are bedding based on time and direction of travel. Right now don't mean a whole lot, but closer to season I will concentrate more on exactly where they are. Right now, and thru July, I just want to know how big is he, and what woods he lives in.
