I went out and about yesterday evening, just about an hour before sun down, and spotted several does in the fields and few flags running through the brush. So, that got me thinkin'...
Would it be a "good time" now to start glassing field edges and what not? Or do you feel it's a bit early. Do you believe that most deer will change their patterns when it's closer to September?
I'm getting to that point, I'm ready to start seein' some deer again. Your thoughts...

To early to pattern deer, and to early to recognize shooters. I start looking about the end of June to find shooters and start to figure out areas they hang around mid july...

I ain't even done scouting yet. Pan fish need some trimming. One more turkey season yet. The trout have been patiently waiting for my lures. The deer will have to wait! I haven't seen any antler growth yet, has anyone else?

Too early I agree by the end of June you'll be able to tell the shooters from the non shooters.

I had a yearly buck show up at work, I got a pretty close look at him and saw some velvet nubs starting to sprout.
Not done scouting eother, 2-3 more spots that need a look.

We have too many deer around here, they need some thinning regardless of their headgear. I am always looking and never too early to keep an eye on the herd
