G3s
Very impressive wall there. My unlce hunts the U.P. close to Manistique. He says is sooo different than hunting our farmland and harder.

That deer was shot during gun season, it is a 6x6 typical with split G2's making it a 14 point...way northern buck up by L'anse. Lucky fella, right spot at the right time

Manistique is a nice town, I hunt about 1 1/2-2 hours NW of there. It has almost no similarities to farm land hunting, it is huge timber/swamp with not many feed sources to key on. that part of the state has nothing for oak trees/soft mast...it is a far different hunt for sure.

I dream of hunting the big woods of the north someday. I like the challenge of where I hunt, but putting all this work in to chase some little swamp donkeys around this mudhole is getting tiresome...
No Shortcuts. No Excuses. No Regrets.

This is a really cool thread... It really makes me want to get up to the UP and explore. Maybe when my kids get a little bit older....

I'm studying maps now for a trip up this fall. Taking a completely new look at the area around our family camp.
