I've been thinking of tossing my hat in the ring for a few years now. Appreciate the heads up, I bought my first preference point today. I've never done a serious out of state hunt before. Figured I'd head to the land of giants see if it's all it's cracked up to be.

I put in for my first today as well. I should probably figure out how to hunt with a bow in my home state before I take this out on the road, but as many points as you need there it can’t hurt to start saving right?

What unit are you looking at in Iowa? Do you already have a Kansas point?

I do not have a point in Kansas, and I'm gonna go for zone 6or 5 not sure which one yet.

You better hurry up and decide, because Kansas application period ended April 29th.

Well I have applied for zone 4 so hopefully my four points and years of waiting will result in a tag filled this fall!

I'll be buying my 4th this month. Was hoping that would be enough for zone 5 next year, but kind of doubting it.

You should have a chance, just not a guaranteed draw.

After going through the process and hunting Iowa last year, I wasn't sure I was gonna go back. Long story short I'm going back.

Probably will be 2027 when I'll draw again.
