Average time sitting in stand ?
Good evening,
I'm curious, how long is everyone's average sit in their stand ?

Re: Average time sitting in stand ?
If I can get my but out of bed super early to drive an hour to public and setup somewhere well before daylight, then not very long because I usually kill something by 8 a.m. or so..... but most of the time I can't force myself to wake up, so I like to get in a tree about 10 a.m. and just stay until end of day. I enjoy my time up in a tree, and going up just for 2-3 hours on an evening hunt doesn't give me the same enjoyment.
I've changed my ways, I'm now looking for big bucks on public land.

Re: Average time sitting in stand ?
This past season I did 70 sits with an average sit time of 2.5 hours. I had a few sits that were 6 hours and some that were 45 minutes.

I’ll start walking from parking around noon-1pm when it doesn’t get dark till 7. I walk for a living so sitting long hours is easy for me. Rest and relaxation. During the rut I’ll get in before daylight and sit all day. That’s more of a mental battle than going out at noon

Re: Average time sitting in stand ?
I try to hunt every single day if work allows it. For this reason I would say my average sit time is 2.5 hours. I probably get 75 sits in per season.

Re: Average time sitting in stand ?
Not including all day sits I would say 4 hrs on average. More early in the season and slightly less late season when movement is much more concentrated to the last hour or so.
I have no problems sitting in a tree as long as it takes. That’s my relaxation time and never feel like I need to be somewhere else.

Re: Average time sitting in stand ?
I like to to pull in the parking lot at around noon, my walk in usually is around 2 or 2.5 hrs, so my sit time is around 3hrs give or take.

2.5 to 3 hours normally. Longer sits towards the better parts of season.

Almost always, no less than 3 and no more than 5.
