Guess i have to get the rifle out and dust it off. Its been over a decade since i fought the crowds and tried to hunt first day. They opened up buck and doe and i need meat so brown and down here i come.

I have passed so many spikes and little bucks this year, I’ve been wanting a couple does to help fill the freezer.

I shot a button buck yesterday on some crowded public. It looked like a doe and was bigger bodied than most of the spikes I had seen. It also didn’t appear to have that short face. Oh well, I’m happy to get some venison for the family. I was the only hunter to see a deer. I talked to 3 other hunters before I left out.

Just remember the ole saying... “they can’t all be winners, but they can all be dinners!!!”
