Big tree in small field
Anyone ever hunt out of a lone tree in a field? Would thermals and wind make it impossible?

Re: Big tree in small field
Is the tree on a hill or in a valley?
I have to imagine thermals react similarly in open areas that they do in wooded areas with the exception of no canopy to hold scent down or protect the area from wind.
This would make me think the wind would be more important than the thermals. Get appropriate wind for where you think the deer are coming through go hunt it and test the wind to see if it is moving how you predict it to be.
My worry with a lone tree would be concealment more than wind. I would be careful not to stick out like a sore thumb.

I might just have to test it out. the tree is an maple with a done of branches so it might be a good hiding spot!
