Deer from Elk…

Just a friendly PSA for you to pass around to any clueless friends and relatives. Maybe post it in every tavern around Jackson county, :?

Saw that. Don’t forget they mentioned moose too.

Guess we won’t be seeing any 500-800 lb does in the Kill Zone now this year. Good thing they cleared this up for us.

It's really embarrassing that they need to send out a communication distinguishing the differences between a whitetail deer and an elk/moose.

I just saw an acquaintance's phone photo of a big 7x7 (I think), bull elk he photographed near Lone Rock in Richland County in a beanfield just the other day.

I could tell it was an elk and not a deer because it had all the "jewelry" -tags, collar, just like the one in the DNR info bulletin.

Also, another identifying characteristic that helped me determine that it was not a deer, is that IT WAS AN ELK!!!!

And no, it wasn't the captive one at Pecks Market near Spring Green-that one is still there as far as I know.

There used to be a bunch of them at a farm around Viroqua, but I think they had to put them down over either fears of CWD or they actually had it.

Remember this?

Like Ron White says………..You Can’t Fix Stupid.

Sorry if that’s too harsh for some but that’s my feelings on this. Truth is some people should never be able to carry firearms if not properly trained on the rule Be Sure Of Your Target And Beyond.

Well, technically they ARE members of the "deer" family.
That should hold up in court when you get indicted...

Going to be hilarious when someone finds huge rubs sets up and a elk comes by not a deer talk about upset.

And Dan was doing such a good job saving the forest now trees get destroyed and their is no way to prevent it.

Printing that actually makes perfect sense. With 81 million biden voters out there some of them are bound to be deer hunters. And i do know a guy that had a horse shot and killed while elk hunting.

Think I heard about that one although it’s possible there were multiple occurrences but pretty sure the one I heard was while deer hunting which is even worse. Not to mention the horse even had a person on saddle.

I set up on the edge of a marsh that had some high rubs coming off of a point last year. 15 minutes before dark two spike bull moose came right down the point, walked directly underneath me, and splashed into the marsh. It was cool, but I felt stupid.
