Weather Underground
What has happened with weather underground? I use the app for my daily weather and for the past several weeks I’ve been comparing it to several other weather apps and it consistently gets the wind wrong compared to these other apps. For example today I have four apps that tell me there’s an East to SE wind, WU is telling me it’s a west wind, that’s not even close. I’ve always used WU for historical data, but now I’m questioning the historical data I’m receiving. What app do you use for your daily weather and what website for your historical weather data?

I thought I always had best results with wunderground. Though nobody seems to give me real accurate results
don’t be broadcasting when you should be tuning in

Re: Weather Underground
I haven’t been to the site in awhile
But I too used to use it for my primary.
On a side note all of them always seem to be wrong…..when I plan a big offshore trip.
I learned that 5kt or less really means 10-15+

Re: Weather Underground
The website is showing an E-SE wind for today. The app is completely wrong.

Re: Weather Underground
Check out darksky.net, as far as I can tell their historical data is accurate, as well as their current weather data. I believe there are many others on this forum that use this site as well.

No, I still use wundwrground for that, I'm pretty sure it's based on NOAA data and not their forecast data.

The weather feature on onx works well. Gives you as precise location as you can get, from my experience.

Re: Weather Underground
I don’t use the app but the website routinely has the wrong location from what I have saved. Maybe check the location is correct. But WU has definitely gotten worse. So far I’m really liking the weather and wind data on the beta version of spartan forge app.
Some do. Some don't. I just might...

I have had good luck with www.Windy.com, there will always be land features in any given spot shifting it a little though.

Re: Weather Underground
I’ve been running into this as well, it drives me nuts! It seems that the arrow direction on the current conditions is always wrong but when you go to the hourly it seems more accurate and at least its always different than the current. Another thing I can’t stand is wunderground is supposed to be from the closest most local weather station but when you go to historical it only lets me get data from certain stations and there relatively far from what I’m looking for. I always like to take a screen shot when I get on stand for my log book when I catch up on it but like i said the current has been flat out wrong anymore.
