Finally it's almost here.

Unread postby Tennhunter3 » Mon Aug 23, 2021 8:01 am

Tennessee velvet hunt opens Friday excited to finally be in the woods. Its only a 3 day hunt.

Then September 2nd or 3rd I'll be on the way to Kentucky. It opens Saturday the 4th. Going to try to do all work ,yard ect beforehand so I'm ahead on things when season starts.

Anyone else getting ready for season.?

Last week I was feeling the itch with temps being in the 70s. Back in the triple digits this week and the swelling in my neck seems to have left. This dang heat just sucks the fun out of anything for me. I still got over a month b4 our season opens. But I’ve worked harder this off-season than I ever have. Last years tag soup and blunders left a bad taste in my mouth! #redemption#lookout#makingItRain

Still over a month till opening day for me. That and ldwf says ticket and jail time if I shoot a velvet clad buck, so one day I'm going to have to break my self imposed no out of state hunting travel to go to Kentucky to kill a velvet buck.

So just finishing up odds and ends before season starts.

I’ll be there man, I will probably only hunt One day for the velvet hunt, either Saturday or Sunday. I don’t have any good intel and I made a deal with the wife that I’d only hunt one day. I will probably just bring a seat and plenty of water and walk and stalk some spots that I know have deer.

Good luck! And keep us updated!

No flooding by me I'm near Jackson.
About 45 min east of me it i heard was really bad.

I used to spend alot of time in Waverly growing up my mom was a Rn at Waverly hospital for years. I grew up in that area.

Pretty crazy to see flooding in a place that my entire life had never seen a major flood. Their were times the Tn river was out of banks but it never was like this event. For the most part it's a very hilly area.
