I have 4 doe tags, and I shoot every doe that comes into range.
The lower the doe numbers the more the big boys have too be on their feet to find a girlfreind.

Re: Who is smoking a doe?
I’m gonna buy a doe tag this year. Haven’t since 2017. Michigan made all the antlerless tags universal for the lower this year. Can use it for both private and public

I think I’m gonna wait for mid October lull to shoot one. Don’t want to screw up the chance at a big boy coming out in daylight.

Re: Who is smoking a doe?
I have purchased two and antlerless tags for public land. I plan on purchasing another one, if there still one available. And then I’m going to purchase at least one private land tag. For a total of four. Adult does will not get a pass.

I rarely pass on letting an arrow fly, especially on a nice, healthy doe

Re: Who is smoking a doe?
I always have at least two antlerless tags that come with my license but haven’t filled one since 2007. Only did then because EAB required me to in order to kill a buck.
For many years I chose not to kill any just because the numbers weren’t where I liked to see them so did my part to protect them. The last few years are looking much better so given an easy opportunity combined with a short drag I just might kill one this season but won’t go out of my way to do it. After the first day I’ll likely have bucks on my mind too much and that plan will be quickly extinguished just like every other year.

This is my first year in the woods. If I get a shot on anything that doesn’t have spots I’m taking it, antlers or not. I’ll get picky later.

Re: Who is smoking a doe?
The only red meat I eat is what I kill. I typically eat 3-4 deer a year and I usually take 2-3 bucks and several does locally. I donate some meat to local food banks and usually pay for processing and donate any out of state deer I take.
