Couple pepperoni rolls and a couple bottles of water. I’ve got to where when it’s really cold out, I’ll pack in a thermos of coffee, warms me up nicely on those cold days.

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity!!

Peanut butter and raisin sandwiches. More durable and don't get all mushed out soggy like PB&J.
Swap raisins for mixed dried fruit when you get sick and tired of raisins.
If you're not fussy, (which you're not or you wouldn't be eating peanut butter and raisins) you can carry the same sandwich for multiple days.
Also Mixed nuts and diced dried fruit.
Want more Varity you say, OK, chunky peanut butter then. Now shut up and eat!

No spoilage or freezing concerns, pocket carry from -30F to 103F, not overly odiferous, cheap, not the most unhealthy stuff to eat, ingredients are available everywhere humans exist.

The above is year round woods, water and work lunchbox standard for me.
It ain't gourmet, but it's effective and it'll take the wrinkles outta your belly.

I hate messing with food, I eat because I have to.
