Looking for some tree or botany experts. Had a doe in my backyard eating leaves off a particular tree. I notice they eat these quite often, I have several of these trees or shrubs out back. Bucks rub them often too because of their bark. My thought was it is a form of buck thorn or immature ash (I am no tree expert). I see these type of trees in creek bottoms also or thick transitions. But the deer eat this A LOT and thought it was good to know.
I took a pic and google lens and came up as dirca palastrus or American leather wood. It looks identical. Is this correct? Any thoughts or input? THank you
