Wheres the buck?
Alrighty beasts looking for some input! This last fall I got two pictures of a nice buck several days apart. Both pictures were taken about an hour after dark in opposite directions maybe a little over a 1/4 mile apart... does one assume he would be bedded some where in between? There is know buck bedding in between and near. Im sure every deer is different but does anyone have any ideas how far a buck might be from his bed an hour after dark i guess is my main question. In the picture red dots are beds and yellow is where the pictures were taken.

Do you have a topo that shows elevation contours?

Re: Wheres the buck?
I would take a real hard look at that old fence row south of the house and that little island of trees. I got a field similar to that and there is a buck there almost every year on the island. Take a look at that south edge of the field below the island of trees too. They lay next to a deadfall or something similar where they can see out a long ways. Hard to approach.

Oh ok might help if you outlined what you can hunt. Sometimes it ends up that way. I had two big bucks for the area I was hunting on camera. Both of them were coming from a section of private land in the middle of state land. I had two pics the whole season where I could of killed one of them during daylight if I had been there that day.

Re: Wheres the buck?
Is there a area or areas on this property that you don't go? How often do you hunt it? I highlighted some areas on the map that I think might be worth checking if you haven't already. Kinda hard to tell without seeing what it really looks like in person though. Not the highest resolution picture. Look for spots where a deer can monitor you when you access the place and have a covered escape route. When you find the spot and say how heck am I gonna hunt this, you are on to something.
