Washing rubber boots
Anyone wash their rubber boots... Ive always air dried them in the sun then stuffed with pine needles but mine are starting to stank.

Re: Washing rubber boots
I always put mine on my boot dryer after each use. Then sprinkle baking soda in each one to absorb odors. Eliminates all the funk.

I use a boot dryer and do not care if they stink.

Agreed,
Sure is nice putting on warm dry boots in morning.
I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.

Mine were so terrible smelling, I sprayed the insides liberally with odor eater spray, they aren't too bad now

When I wash my cloths, I wait for it to make some good suds and I fill them a few times w the soapy water.

I have great luck with boot driers. Leave them on overnight.

Re: Washing rubber boots
I'm a boot dryer and don't care what they smell like guy. I bought a small ozone generator and modified a tote. Use it mostly for work clothes after working on farms or burnt houses. Will throw hunting clothes and boots in it from time to time if they're getting smelly enough to bother me

Re: Washing rubber boots
If you pop them on a boot drier right when you get home they tend to not get very smelly in my experience. When I haven't had the opportunity to dry them (back country) they will get a funk but a few days on the drier when I get home and it mostly goes away.

Re: Washing rubber boots
I screwed a boot hanger in the bed of my truck behind the cab. My boots live there all of hunting season. If I get them wet inside with sweat or water they go for a spin on the boot dryer. I get just about two seasons out of a pair of good boots.

Boot drier for sure. If worn all day and socks are damp, I also pull the insoles out of my mucks. I put them on the drier before to only find them still wet under the insoles.
