I know some guys are still getting after it, but with gun season opening Saturday (in Wisconsin), how was your 2020 rut?
I know many guys hunting large managed private farms that usually put down some great bucks that didn't even sniff a good one this year. And it seems like most of the guys I talked to hunting public land were never in the game. In my experience, it seemed like the last week of October had the most action, but my hunting time was limited so I may have just missed the best days.
How was your rut? Which were the best days for you?

Tagged out on October 26. The past 3 years I have fallen in love with the last 10 days of October in SW Wisconsin. So much that I’m making sure those are the first days I take off at work from now on. It’s amazing that some guys don’t even start hunting until Halloween, missing some of the best days IMO.

It was alright. The end of October was good, first few days of November were OK, then the warmer weather came, and things seem to slow down quite a bit. Daytime activity was down compared to other years. Ended up alright. My best days were the mornings of 11/8 and 11/9. It rained on 11/10 and was very windy, so that day was not particularly good. Otherwise seemed to be ok.

No sponsors. No camera crew. No team. Just me and my bow. And that’s the way I prefer it.

It was good. Saw some chasing and some good deer. We shot a good one. I do believe that I will be taking off more in October next year.

It was ok. Like others have said right around Halloween was very good. I didn’t get to hunt again til 11/6 but those next couple days were good in the mornings. Like everyone else the heat really slowed daytime activity and I saw some deer movement in the mornings but afternoons became a struggle. My best days were 11/12 through 11/14. Overall had decent activity and had my opportunities but didn’t cash in.

No idea. Was in Iowa for 3 weeks so I completely missed the WI rut this year.

Looking back is negative for excuse makers! Try looking ahead at potential opportunities and see what happens. Goonies never say die
