Rub lines, and how to hunt them?
So, I have a decently long (about 100yds) rub line that follows a creek bed (the upper edge of the ravine) that has about 10-15 consecutive fresh rubs on it. I can’t find many scrapes so this is the best sign I have to work with right now. From the side of the tree they are on, I can assume the direction of travel. It appears that it’s coming from the direction of bedding, so is the only way to hunt this going to be the evening? Or have any of y’all had luck hunting a rub line like this at other times/differently?

If the line shows direction coming from bedding, hunt the bedding and forget the rub line.
If you have rubs over a 100yd distance, and it is away from bedding, think about when those rubs were probably made.
Back track the line and find where he is coming from and hunt it.

The line doesn’t make sense when I look at it on topo or on the ground.... the line comes starting from the lake and comes up the creek bed (on the upper edge of the side of the creek) and continues up. If he was bedded down there he’d be as low down as possible, so it’s not making sense to me?

Do you have a trail camera up? Also I'd put in a morning and follow it with an evening hunt or vise versa to see how that spot plays out.

No cams, it’s on public around where I had a cam stolen earlier in the season.
