When we talk about both the rounds. There is one notable thing. These rounds are interchangeable. The size of the .223 rounds is almost the same as the 5.56 mm rounds. The .223 Remington chambers consist of a shorter leade. This leade contributes to increased accuracy. It is because of the increased pressure and decreased velocity. You have to note that all the AR 15 Build are not the same. Each one has its unique differences.

I wouldn't use either for deer hunting personally. .223 is only interchangeable in receivers chambered for 5.56. You cannot load a 5.56 round into a rifle chambered for .223.

As said, they are interchangeable from 5.56 to 223 but not vice-versa. If it’s chambered for 223, don’t use 5.56 ammo. The slight difference has more pressure. If u run 5.56 in a 223 it’ll jamb the casing in the chamber. 223 in a 5.56, or wylde chamber no prob
