Stuck a Buck.
Stuck a buck. Don't have any signal.

I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.

Re: Stuck a Buck.
He came off hill where they bed down a lot of times @ 8:22 this morning. He started rubbing a tree 10 yards from me. He had me pinned down. I could not stand up. He stood there for maybe 30 seconds. He walked forward picked up a few acorns. Step behind tree. I got up and drawled. He stepped out from behind tree at 10 yards straight away from me. He was easing along picking up acorns. He got out about 15 yards turned just enough I released about time he turned more. I heard it connect. He coming running past me with arrow sticking in from of rear ham. Talking about a bad feeling! He was running away from me and just stopped out at about 30 yards. Fell over and started kicking. I could not see him very good from all under growth. I could see just enough to know he was still a live. He stopped kicking and raised his head. Then his head fell backwards. I waited just few more minutes he lifted his head up was just sitting there. About 10 minutes went by, I noticed more movement, looked up it was coyote nipping at his rear. I knew he was dead then. I ran coyote off started down tree. Went over to him. His head had fell in a position that his horns were straddling tree like he was looking down hill. That makes my 5th buck from that location.
I had a time getting him out by myself. Ended up in water waist deep too, but that is how you keep a place secure.

Re: Stuck a Buck.
What a story! Glad it worked out like it did.
Can you let us know what the arrow hit that killed him so quick?

I'm thinking femoral artery is reason it worked out.

Nice congrats! Those coyotes don’t mess around!
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a hind quarter shot end in a quick kill..
