I have a question that has me a little confused but I feel once I learn this it will help add 1 more piece of the puzzle to help me be a better beast style hunter.
I’ve been doing nothing but listening to interviews from Dan Infalt and watching the marsh bedding dvds over and over again. There is 1 area that gives me a little confusions...
Are you guys actually GOING INTO the bedding areas (dogwood/brush) looking for a lone tree and getting set up there?
Or do you only look for points and islands?
I’ve kind of seen and heard conflicting information.
I heard Dan say that in some of those buck bedding areas that bucks will be way in the back of the bedding surrounded by satellite bedding with does up front and smaller bucks. That sometimes Dan will go into these bedding areas and kick up some of the does or younger bucks and then get set up where he needs to be.
Did I understand that correctly?
Theres an area just off into the marsh that is dog wood and lone trees. I walked into it and found fresh beds that looked like doe beds... I’m curious if I kept walking deeper into that area and looked for a lone tree to get set up into.
Also... the marshes by me are really dry this year. Does that make the deer move out further into the marsh? Due to the lack of water creating the safe haven for them?
This is what’s making me want to push back further... I’m getting set up within 50-75 yards of bedding areas. But that’s not helping me if I need to go in deeper and actually be in the bedding areas.
Thanks Beasts!
