Peeing from the tree?

Unread postby Zfrantz » Wed Oct 14, 2020 4:29 am

I’m sure this has been covered on here before but the conversation came up amongst buddies of mine about peeing from tree stand instead of into bottle? One viewpoint is with being off the stand is that people who make mock scrapes pee into them and still get activity? So why would peeing from tree make any difference? I tried searching it on here and didn’t find a direct answer.. what are your views on this?

Used to pee in bottles but quit doing it a few years back cause I got tired of carrying bottles. Have seen absolutely no difference either way.

There is so much evidence out there proving that human urine is different than animal urine. I have zero issues with peeing out of the stand.

Let it fly but remember to play the wind so you don’t get covered

Let it fly. I have never seen deer react negatively to pee and have had several deer smelling it under my tree with no negative reaction till they got downwind or smelled my ground scent approaching the tree.

If you enjoy carrying pee around in a bottle by all means keep doing it. Just don't mix up your water bottles.

Go for it. if worried about noise, wait for an airplane/truck/Harley to go by.

I pee from the stand but I don’t exactly let it fly. I try to kinda silently run it down the trunk. On a calm morning letting it fly from 20 ft up sounds like a firing squad in my woods. I don’t believe it’s coincidence but possibly. Several times when I use to just whizz my name on the forest floor I had deer come right in on me and catch me with my pants down (literally). I believe they were bedded near by and heard me.

I will try my best to pee on the tree next to me to minimize sound.

On a cold morning hunt after coffee I’d need a gallon jug!

Pee and chew spit right on the ground...they probably aren't making it to the base of my tree before getting shot
