True true. Paper and digital copy are packed and ready.

It only takes 15 seconds for the hunt of a lifetime.

I'm as excited as I always am. I've got some really good deer to go after this year, but I'm trying not to get too terribly excited about that. Just going to follow the process, and wait for one to make a mistake.
With that being said, I have scouted and glassed wayyyy more this year, and feel much more prepared. I'm hoping it pays off, but i'm still expecting it to be difficult.
Anything worth doing, is worth over doing.

A little behind normal but I am cranking up the scouting and going through my gear, bow is ready to rock.

Gl in South Dakota aren't the non resident tags up that way draw only not over the counter?

That is correct. This state is harder on non residents.
Resident archery is basically over the counter but non residents need to apply by Aug 1.

Im ready to get out there and get after some bucks. Our season opened up today and I will be going out this evening. Made a ton of changes to my setup this year so going to be the first real test of everything. Doing more of an observation sit since it will be my first hunt out of a saddle and first hunt with wild edge steps Also want to glass some since the fact that i didn't put in enough off season work and dont have a target buck this year

Excited for sure.

A little different going into Beast season 2.5 though.

I know more than ever, but still don’t know jack and I can’t say I’ve got any one place dialed in despite promising areas.

I cannot wait. The weather looks like it’ll be great for opening day here in Kentucky!

I'm old this is beast year 5 I think for me one season I was out with a severe arm injury and didn't hunt .

It's crazy my first 2 years I thought I knew more then I did. Looking back i knew about as much as Jon Snow.

Year 3 and 4 I've felt like I'm getting better.
I still mess up all the time.

I'll be making the drive to Northeast KY.
No rattlesnakes in the blue grass region worth the extra tank of fuel to not have to deal with rattlers and cottonmouths.

People pressure will be rough hopefully I can find some overlooked areas or water.

Weather looks great below average Temps should get bucks moving.

I'm planning on Kentucky river wma.
Though Kiebler or others I may visit if kentucky river is packed.

Fired up is an absolute understatement. Season starts Sept 15th here. I was drawn for a managed hunt that runs from sept 15th-27th at a location loaded with deer including a bunch of big bucks, and I was able to get most of those days off. This also allows me to have 3 buck tags for the year instead of the normal 2... of course I'll be really lucky (and very happy) if I can fill one...

Once I get my bow I’ll be excited. Nothing like waiting till the last second. Traded the old one in for a new one and new arrows a month ago. Still waiting for some things to deliver. It’s Not like I haven’t been getting pics of a big one. :shifty:
