I lost an arrow out of my quiver yesterday busting through some thick cover. No idea when I lost it. Thankfully it was my field point not one with a broadhead

I was getting some beauty sleep this morning in my truck. While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, as of some one gently rapping, rapping at my Tacoma door.
“’Tis Tbunao” I muttered, “tapping at my Tacoma door— Only this and nothing more.”

"There's a bull bugling!" He exclaimed.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;
But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token, and then the bull did bugle once more.

Long story short, we got in close, but not the best setup. The bull was pretty fired up, but he hung up around 150-250 yards out. Wind was definitely iffy and lots of cattle surely didn't help. The elk win again. Back to work tomorrow. I'll only have 5 or 6 more days to get it done between now and Oct 18th.

I'm setup on a swamp point sticking into the marsh. Hard to see sign in the water but I predict bedding to be to my west. We'll see what happens

Tucked in for a ground sit tonight. Lots of sign coming through the marsh do I set up on a trail that I’ve seen the majority of mature bucks walk. Rain allowed me to get in extra quiet. Hopefully they really move when it stops. Had a doe and fawn come through shortly after setting up

I bumped a buck scouting and found his bed. The grass was flattened in a five yard circle and lots of rubs. Looks like he has been using this in multiple wind directions.

I found a similar bed but it almost looked more like an old scrape area with licking branches.

I am actually in a tree tonight! :shock:

Overlooking an awesome bedding area in a property I’ve never been to until this spring. Tons of fresh sign now, including buck sign. Have had 2 does come browsing past in range already

I did a ton of walking... in the rain... to find 0 scrapes and only 1 rub. Unbelievable.

BUT... it looks like a shooter made it and it’s right next to bedding. Impromptu ground pound. Wind is perfect. Got in clean... on pins and needles I wait :D

Had a very large deer come through but he never offered me a good shot. Could have shot the does he was with all night. He was feeding on willow heavily. Still have a few minutes

Shot a doe, wasn’t real big. But I snuck up in her on the ground
